With FISCH® conical step drill bits, chip flutes are ground into the fully hardened material through the use of creep feed grinding methods. In the grinding process, the material structure is completely severed which results in dimensionally more accurate and sharp blades. The individual steps are axially CBN relief-ground which causes the blade to be the topmost point of the axial cutting plane. The blades in every step are provided with a relief angle so that the blade is the topmost point in feed direction, too. The drill bit allows centering and spot drilling of thin-walled materials.
